What it is
How Xylan 1427 protects the joint.
01142X with extra corrosion protectionXylan 1427 is similar to 1420 but formulated for extra corrosion protection.
02Thin filmLike the other Xylan grades, it keeps threads within fit – no oversize-tapped nuts.

The 142X series is applied at about 1 mil (25 µm) dry film over a pretreatment. Corrosion life depends on that pretreatment and the thickness of the system.

- 1427 or TAKECOAT-1000?
- TAKECOAT-1000 is a two-layer system rated for at least 6.000 hours before red rust; choose it for the most severe exposure and long maintenance intervals.
- Where was it used?
- On the Fécamp offshore wind farm in France, client Saipem.
- Which parts can be coated?
- Stud bolts, bolts, nuts and washers. Tell us grade and size.
- Do I need other torque values?
- Yes. Use torque values for the coated condition.
